The T24 HUB Team celebrates its 2nd anniversary

Two years ago, in October 2022, the T24 Hub team was established as a center of excellence for IT solutions in banking. Its primary mission has been to support the transformation of banking systems within the RBI Group. Despite numerous challenges, the team’s determination and expertise have enabled the development of key solutions that now support the Group’s operations. This team of seventeen highly skilled professionals is responsible for the implementation and development of the T24 system, provided by Temenos, a global leader in the industry, ensuring the stability, innovation, and growth of banking systems.

A Brief History of T24 Hub

Since its inception, the T24 Hub has undergone significant development, becoming a cornerstone of the RBI Group's banking systems. The T24 system is operational in five Group banks: Kosovo (RBKO), Slovakia (TBSK), China (RBCN), Poland (RBIPL), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (RBBH).

Temenos, a global leader in banking IT solutions, supplies the system, with annual updates introducing new business functionalities or technical solutions. The system architecture has also evolved, becoming increasingly complex. Maintaining core systems requires not only technical expertise but also business knowledge. The experienced team effectively minimizes operational risks, ensuring the system’s high availability.

In October 2022, with strong support from the RBI HO CBS team, the T24 Hub Competence Center was established. It now provides services across the RBI Group as part of Raiffeisen Tech Poland.

What Do We Do?

T24 Hub is dedicated to service quality and collaboration within the RBI Group. A testament to its capabilities was the RBKO Technical Upgrade & Data Migration project in 2022–2023. Effective cooperation with the RBKO project team, Temenos, and thorough preparation ensured the smooth and flawless execution of both project phases.

The service offering includes Core Services, Standard Support Services, and On-Demand Services. Under On-Demand Services, the team is involved in a major project to migrate Dealing BE products to T24 in Slovakia, covering Treasury and Payments modules.

Key Achievements of T24 Hub in Numbers

The team collaborates with five Group banks, delivering annual implementations and migrations that collectively amount to thousands of hours. These figures reflect the scale of challenges and professionalism T24 Hub brings to the Group.

Their activities also include supporting local solution optimization, automating processes, and responding swiftly to client needs, such as implementing credit repayment moratoriums for flood-affected individuals in southern Poland.

T24 Hub Core Services – Value for the RBI Group

Under Core Services, T24 Hub provides functional and technical support, as well as innovations for all T24 NWUs. Current initiatives include:

  • Installation and configuration of the containerized Temenos Payment Hub (TPH) on OpenShift.
  • Proof of Concept for migrating T24 to rCloud.
  • Maintaining T24/Transact with all Temenos updates, with the latest version made available for T24 NWUs.
  • Performance testing of various database variants (PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and T24 installation on rCloud (AWS, Azure).
  • Containerization and process automation for NWU banks.

This comprehensive activity in Core Services enhances the flexibility and innovation of banking services, accelerating the deployment of new functionalities and increasing system stability.

Learning and Development

Supporting training initiatives is crucial for the T24 Hub team. In August 2024, the team organized product workshops with NWU and Temenos representatives and is building a T24 Knowledge Base in Confluence, which will soon be accessible to all T24 NWUs. The TLC (Temenos Learning Community) program allows the team to develop skills in technical and functional areas using extensive materials and a test environment.

Certification is a vital aspect of team development, requiring motivation and commitment while ensuring the highest knowledge standards for efficiently supporting RBI projects.

Collaboration with RBI HO International Core Banking Systems

For over two years, T24 Hub has closely collaborated with the International CBS team, building trust and shared goals. The team aims to deliver top-quality services, maintain transparency, and ensure full satisfaction for NWUs. This partnership, underpinned by shared values and experiences, enables the team to achieve these objectives.

What Does the Future Hold?

T24 Hub is continuously preparing for new challenges. Future developments include cloud migration, containerization, and innovative AI-based technologies and process automation. Planned improvements will enhance flexibility and speed of deployment, critical for RBI Group operations.

Staying Current – Temenos Customer Forum 2024

Each year, the T24 Hub team participates in the Temenos Customer Forum (TCF), joined by RBI HO and NWU representatives. This year’s edition, held in Dublin in May, focused on key trends such as cloud transformation and banking innovations. Highlights included:

  1. SaaS and cloud enhancements: Temenos introduced the LEAP program to help banks transition to cloud-native architecture.
  2. Generative AI solutions: Generative AI for banking was showcased to improve operational efficiency and provide personalized customer experiences.
  3. Sustainability benchmarking: Presentation of a sustainability benchmark for Temenos' cloud banking platform on Microsoft Azure.
  4. Payment solutions innovation: Advances in Payments Hub development were presented.
  5. Real-time data management: Introduction of Temenos Positions, a tool for real-time data management.

The T24 Hub team, alongside RBI HO CBS, also collaborates with the independent Temenos User Group (TUG), allowing users of Temenos products to share experiences.

With ambitious cloud and automation projects on the horizon, T24 Hub is poised to accelerate the rollout of new services and enhance RBI’s system scalability. Supported by its partnership with Temenos and active participation in industry events like the Temenos Customer Forum, T24 Hub plays a key role in building RBI Group’s digital future—a future where technology underpins effective, secure, and sustainable banking.
